# Sending to a large list

Iflow can send the same message to a large list in one go. Each send to a list is a **job**: Iflow queues the messages, sends them to the networks, and tracks each one individually.

## Before you send

- **Check the cost.** The total is the number of recipients multiplied by the number of [message parts](/docs/reference/sms-message-parts/). One extra character or emoji can double or triple it.
- **Check your credit.** If the account doesn't have enough, messages fail with **9106**. Accounts can also have a daily budget (**9107**) or a monthly credit limit (**9111**). See [Credit and billing](/docs/account/credit-and-billing/).
- **Send a test** to yourself first, from the same sender, to see exactly how it arrives.

<!-- NEEDS CAPTURE: how a list is uploaded in the portal (file types, column layout), and whether merge fields can personalise each message. -->

## How a job runs

| Status | Meaning |
|--------|---------|
| `Queuing` | Iflow is queuing the job's messages |
| `Queued` | The messages are queued and ready to send |
| `Complete` | Every message has been handed to the networks |
| `Cancelled` | The job was cancelled |
{.table}

A job can show **Complete** before every message has been delivered: delivery reports, replies and opt-outs keep arriving afterwards. Check each message's status in [Delivery reports](/docs/replies-and-reports/delivery-reports/).

## Duplicates

If the same message goes to the same number twice, the duplicate fails with **9120**.
