# Delivery reports

Every message has a status that updates as it moves from Iflow to the mobile network and on to the phone.

## Message statuses

| Status | Meaning |
|--------|---------|
| `Sent` | The message has been passed to the mobile network |
| `Delivered` | The network has confirmed the message reached the phone |
| A code, e.g. `9106` | The message wasn't sent. The code says why |
{.table}

**Sent** isn't the same as **Delivered**. A phone that's switched off or out of coverage can leave a message at **Sent** until the network delivers it or gives up.

## When a message fails

Look the code up in [Status and error codes](/docs/reference/sms-status-codes/). The most common are:

- **9000**: the number is on your [stop list](/docs/reference/opt-outs/).
- **9007**: the number isn't a valid mobile number.
- **9106**: the account didn't have enough credit. See [Credit and billing](/docs/account/credit-and-billing/).
- **9132**: the destination network doesn't accept sender IDs. Send from a reply number instead.

<!-- NEEDS CAPTURE: where delivery reports are shown in the Iflow portal, filters, and whether reports can be exported. -->
