# Users

An Iflow account belongs to your organisation. Each person who sends from it has their own user, with their own sign-in.

## Why each person needs a user

- **Signing in.** Each user signs in to the [web portal](/docs/getting-started/sign-in/) with their own email address and password.
- **Email to SMS.** The gateway only accepts emails from addresses that belong to a user on the account. To let someone send by email, add them as a user first. See [Send SMS by email](/docs/email-to-sms/send-by-email/).

## The account owner

The person who registered the account is its owner, and is the person we contact about the account, its sender IDs and billing.

## When someone leaves

Remove their user so they can no longer sign in or send by email.
