# Credit and billing

Iflow charges in two parts: a monthly fee for your [subscription level](/docs/account/subscription-levels/), and a charge for each message part sent and each reply received. Prices exclude VAT. See the [pricing page](/pricing/) for the current rates in your country.

## What's charged

| Item | Charged |
|------|---------|
| SMS sent | Per [message part](/docs/reference/sms-message-parts/), at your country's rate. Lower rates apply at higher volumes |
| SMS sent abroad | Per message part, at the destination country's rate |
| Reply received | Per reply |
| Own reply number | Per month, where offered |
| Subscription | Per month, by level |
{.table}

There are no set-up fees and no minimum term.

## Credit and limits

An account needs enough credit to cover the messages it sends. These limits can stop a message being sent:

| Code | Reason |
|------|--------|
| `9106` | The account didn't have enough credit |
| `9107` | Sending would have exceeded the account's daily budget |
| `9111` | The account's monthly credit limit has been reached |
{.table}

Daily budgets and monthly credit limits protect you from sending more than you meant to, for example if a system starts sending in a loop.

<!-- NEEDS CAPTURE: how credit is added (card top-up, invoice, direct debit), low-credit alerts, and where invoices are found in the portal. -->
